An Exhibit by John Baltz

“An Old Perspective of the Present” is a collection of modern photographic images created by John Baltz with the feel of nineteenth century photography. John uses high contrast Black and White printing techniques along with Sepia tenting to produce a perspective study of trains with an historic appeal.

John Baltz is a native to Northwest Arkansas, and seems to have always had a fascination with camera’s and photography. As a young child he began collecting cameras from local flea markets and yard sales. And today his collection continues to grow with well over a thousand camera’s dating from the mid 1800’s to present. It is this interest in the historical aspect of photography that inspired this collection of images.

Various trains, old and modern, from around Northwest Arkansas portrayed in an artistic conception of an earlier period.
