Board of Directors meeting
July 31st 2002
The following minutes have been recorded and approved as accurately representing the ideas, leadership, and dictation of governing rules as set forth by the Board of Directors for the Photographic Society of Northwest Arkansas.
1)
Meeting
called to order by Executive Chair Patrick Ward.
a)
Attendance
included: Mark Abram, John Baltz,
Catherine Baltz John Hamilton, Sara Hamilton, Jason Hudson, Lena Hudson, Nakole
Neumeier, and Patrick Ward
2)
Brief
discussion about obtaining both a Post Office box and Phone number for official
society correspondence.
3)
Draft
of bylaws presented for Board inspection by John Baltz, vote to approve if not
amended set for Board meeting Aug 7th 2002.
4)
The
date of Aug 7th was set for Board photographs, needed for publicity
and web postings.
5)
Patrick
Ward announced the rental of a space in the Washington County fair for member
recruitment. The floor was opened to
group discussion on key issues related to the fair recruitment booth:
a)
Preparation
of a recruitment pamphlet
b)
Preparation
of a contest to display photographs of general interest
c)
Preparation
of signage for the display
d)
Preparation
of a display video used in the display columns
e)
Preparation
of a web site in time for use in recruitment materials
4)
Membership
dues were address and set by unanimous vote as follows in accordance with the
future bylaws of the Society:
a) Single Memberships Monthly Payments $19.00 Yearly Lump
Payment $199.00
b)Joint Membership Monthly
Payments $29.00 Yearly Lump
Payment $299.00
c)College Student Monthly
Payments $10.00 Yearly Lump
Payment $99.00
e)For legal and management
reasons, a minimum age of 18 will be required for membership.
d)Single, and Primary Joint
members will receive PSA membership. Due to discounted membership rates, additional joint
members and college students will not receive PSA membership.
5)
Floor
was opened for discussion on class and events scheduled for the fall of
2002. The people volunteered to lead
the following events, before discussion was tabled for consideration at the Aug
7th meeting.
