Photographic Society of Northwest Arkansas

Board of Directors meeting January 23rd 2003

 

The following minutes have been recorded and approved as accurately representing the ideas, leadership, and dictation of governing rules as set forth by the Board of Directors for the Photographic Society of Northwest Arkansas.

 

1)      Meeting called to order by Executive Chair Patrick Ward.

a)      Attendance included:  Mark Abram, John Baltz, Catherine Baltz, E. Rick Cash, Michelle Ironside, Nakole Neumeier, and Lucy Overstreet.

 

2)      Brief discussion concerning the desire to see if Bedfords and Colliers would provide door prizes for the monthly general meeting.  Patrick Ward will talk with Bedfords, and John Baltz will talk with Colliers.

 

3)      Spring schedule of event were set.  In addition to classes the Board by unanimous vote set the first Monday of each month as the date for the PSNWA general meetings, and the third Thursday of each month as the date for the Board of Directors to meet.

 

                        Feb 3  -   Society meeting, 7:00 pm Common Grounds Dickson St.

                        Feb 8  - Dark Room class for the beginner.

                        Feb 22 - Society Social

                        Mar 3  - Society meeting, 7:00 pm Common Grounds Dickson St.

                        Mar 8  - Photoshop for beginners

                        April 7 - Society meeting, 7:00 pm Common Grounds Dickson St.

                        April 12 - Ozark Challenge

                        May 5 - Society meeting, 7:00 pm Common Grounds Dickson St.

                        May 10 - Photoshop for the Digital Photographer

 

4)      Common Grounds has requested the photographs be changed.  It was decided to switch the current exhibit with that of an example for the PSNWA fall fair competition.

 

4)      John Baltz will supply Patrick Ward with the spring membership flyer for distribution through out Northwest Arkansas.

 

5)      Patrick Ward asked board members to look into a bank for seting up a checking account for PSNWA.

 

6)      The board unanimously agreed to contact the Nadine Baum Center about use of the facility and teaching class.

 

7)      The board briefly discussed fund raisers.  It was decided by consent that the Society would wait to raise funds until Federal registration was completed or as needed.

 

8)      Lucy Overstreet requested a FTP area be setup on the website for the easy transfer for Society Publications.  John Baltz will see to the creation of the ftp account.

 

9)      Meeting was called to close by Patrick Ward.
