Route 66 Weekend Photo Tour with Greg Disch
- April 9, 2016 - April 10, 2016
7:00 am - 4:30 pm
Oklahoma Route 66 from Afton to Arcadia
Route 66 is a national treasure, it’s pure adventure, and its close by. This weekend tour is guided by Greg Disch, and includes a signed copy of Greg’s book “Route 66: Ghost Towns and Roadside Relics” which will be released this spring. Greg will be available throughout the workshop to assist you to get the best photos, whether by learning a new technique or just working on improving composition.
Also included is one night’s lodging at the Desert Hills Motel in Tulsa based on double occupancy. Cost for the workshop is $150 per person, and travel will be by carpooling. Single occupancy may be purchased as an option.
This adventure guides you to the best photo locations and opportunities, and teaches you to shoot better images by learning to visualize before taking the shot and think more about the image than the camera settings.
Foodies take note – we will eat in classic Route 66 restaurants, where possible, to get the full Route 66 experience.
You’ll also get a custom guidebook of the locations and route during the trip, allowing you to review historical information along the way. It will help keep you from getting lost – but a little wandering on your own is expected and anticipated.
Greg is one of the best known travel photographers in Arkansas and consistently gets high ratings as an instructor at MapSYM and during workshops at PSNWA studios.
Note: Desert Hills is a classic Route 66 motel where you can re-live the experience of 1950s roadside travel. The included room night is based on double occupancy; if single occupancy is desired there is an option for $24 which can be added. Please, no discounting of the fee if an alternative overnight accommodation is desired. All participants must be registered PSNWA members or registered member guests.
We will start at 7:00 AM from the PSNWA studio on the morning of Saturday April 9th, and end on Sunday April 10th at approximately 4:30 PM at Pops Museum and Gas Station in Arcadia. Carpooling is suggested…so call a friend and come on the first two-day photographic tour in PSNWA history.
Don’t miss it.
